Greetings! The first fishing trip in Panama for Black and Blue just ended.
Our member met up with De Mako in Panama City and made the trip to the Las Perlas Islands. Captian Mike put the hook down and they spent the night there, grilling some steaks in the cockpit. At dawn, they made their way to Pinas Bay. Fishing was a challenge as green water had pushed its way in. Using dead bait, Capt. Mike Springer was able to coax four sailfish to bite. The guys caught each of these fish - way to make 'em count!
The main excitement of the day was in the afternoon when a 400 class Black Marlin crashed the baits. Again, the hook stayed put and the fight was on. The marlin put on a great show and was released in short order.
That night dinner was at the Tropic Star Lodge - everything was great. Spent the night on the boat in Pinas Bay, which has to be one of the most beautiful spots in the world.
Pictures will be posted shortly, check out /"]http://www.blackandbluefishing.com]www.blackandbluefishing.com to see them.
Next trip in May 30. We will let you know how it goes.
