Interesting data! In effect we are weeding out the easy to catch bass which in the long run is going to make it more difficult for bass fisherman to land that lunker!
ha! I never keep any bass during spawn and usually don't purposely fish the beds. When I do I handle the bass carefully and immediately release them.
I even wrote an article about proper handling of bass during spawn here at this site.
