Redondo Pier can get crowded at times. Weekends are no exception. Hoop nets can be dropped withing the area adjacent to the little restaurants in the triangle shaped opening.
I have been there many times when the Pier is elbow to elbow. All you will do is tangle lines whether it is your fault or not.
When that happens, I prefer to pack it up and leave for another Pier. Manhattan Pier is not too far north of there and usually has more fishing space without the limited area that Redondo has.
You can catch many of the same species with the added advantage of getting some nice Barred Surf Perch there. Fresh Clams, or Gulp Camo Sand worms are very good for that.[cool]
