Well guys, I'm back! It was a great trip back home to Utah. I hated having to leave and come back to Kentucky, but hopefully I won't have to do that anymore here soon.
The fishing was spectacular! My brother, Dad, and I managed to reserve a cabin up at the LC Ranch outside of Altamont. The fishing was amazing, with monster fish! Multiple lakes with monster browns and bows. The fishing really turned on when the sun went down. There is no better feeling than stripping a bugger in the dark with a full moon, and feeling that SLAM followed by a SPLASH!!! Awesome! I caught the biggest bow of my life, so far, at 26.25" (8.2lbs). The biggest brown I caught was 22" (5 lbs). FUN!!!
We also fished a local water that we were told had some small mouth action. We had caughten some small ones on the fly (buggers), then we came upon an inlet that flowed into the lake as a little waterfall, and it was on! Both smallies and biggies! And these were bigger fish. Biggest smallie I caught was about 3.5#, at the biggest largemouth was about 3#. It was fun! Every cast for about an hour till they were all sore-lipped! lol!
I also had time to hit some of my favorite spots growing up. I hit the east canyon with minimal success (1 little brown 10"), the weber (upper and lower) and caught some nice browns (biggest about 25"), Strawberry (biggest about 24" cutt), and the Provo (midway) biggest about 22" brown (had a monster on that took me down river and busted me off!)
All in all, a wonderful trip. Good to be back home and see family and friends. Can't wait to get back out there to stay.
