They are difficult to tune especially if you run them at 2.0 mph or higher. But the reason they roll so easy like that is that they search back and forth. THey don't just run in a straight line like most cranks, but kick out as they wiggle back and forth.

They also make a Ripshad that is just awesome and ratttles. Smaller than the deep little ripper. About the size of a #5 - #7 Shadrap.

Out here in colorado, we run the non deep divers off of leadcore in late summer to get the suspended walleyes.
