Did you ever think if trying ABS pipe? It is VERY light due to the cellulose core, and is quite sturdy. The only di
vantage I can think of right now would be it's tendency to get very hot in warmer sunny climates.....such as the one you live in....but I guess a cheap .99 cent can of white Krylon spray paint could solve that problem.
