Now that all of the Jackson Hole and Mt guides have thinned I guess I'll share some info...
Fishing has been amazing! Every evening if you fish the last 90 min of light...pmd's are the ticket! However-once it get's almost where you can't see - fish something like a yellow humpy-size 12..."skip it" from downstream to upstream and let it drift back....Can't even tell you how many cuts I've landed in less than 12 inches of water and the average fish is between 14-16 inches! Fishing hasn't been this good since before the flood in '97...I've fished the SF for 30yrs with my fly rod and I'm telling you, if you haven't fished it...this is the yr to do so. Now that the crowds have thinned it's even more of a reason to get out. Any riffle will produce but floating a section is your best bet-I prefer just doing so in my pontoon and pulling over to each riffle. Good luck and I'll see you out there!
