Ice Fishing... Anybody else getting excited for it yet?

[cool][#0000ff]If Yuba gets "fished out", it will not be by anglers. Carp and other predators wipe out thousands more perch than fishermen. And with current conditions the "average" angler cannot even catch a 10 fish perch limit. No need to worry about a bunch of people harvesting 50 fish per trip. Not gonna happen. Not many folks even fishing Yuba right now because nobody is catching much. That won't change just because of a change in the regulations.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I predict that once the regs change a lot more perch hounds will go to Starvation. About the same drive from Salt Lake and there are a lot more perch...and better walleye fishing too.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]The best thing that could happen to Yuba would be for it to go dry again and kill off ALL the fish...especially the carp. But, they would come right back because carp can survive in wet mud and keep getting restocked from Gunnison every year.[/#0000ff]
