Water clarity?
#6
Lots of good clarity under the ice, way better than with no ice. There are no waves or wind to stir things up, no boats either. There may be some inflow near creek and river mouths, but that's about it as there is very low release because irrigation is not taking place.
The biggest drawback is getting light through the ice to illuminate the fish for the camera. Mostly the lights on the camera's don't shine bright enough to illuminate the fish as far away as could be seen.
If you fishing after freeze-up but before snow cover you can se pretty far, after the snow comes and the light is blocked is when it gets hard to see.
You can always dig the snow away to let light in, but that's about it.
