Don't know if dots would be enough. Fly line is pretty slippery (Hopefully) not to mention the tangling.
Easy enough though, drill the holes, put a glob of silicone, push the bolt (aluminum would be a good choice) through the hole and silicone, then put the wire nut on. this would make it double strong, waterproof, and a gasket of sorts on the bottom to close any gaps.
Drill a few more holes for water drainage.
I had an apron on my Navigator II and I have one for my H3, but I have got use to not using them, so it is what you get use to, and you CAN get use to anything.[]
I like my Outlaw cause the line falls on the step underneath the seat. out of the way and out of the water for recast.
