Hi Dave.
Good for you that you took that free class. Free fly fishing
anything is always a good thing.[]
Wind knot is basically a overhand knot. Which is one
of the worst knots when it comes to cutting the strength
of your line (tippet) in that knot section.
Overhand (wind) knot is about 50 % cut in strength.
So lets say your 4lb tippet is only 2lb with that knot in it.
If I get a "wind" knot in my tippet I just cut shorter or
replace the tippet.
