Okay Peter, I just had to read the reviews...on the TROUT it seems that it actually got great reviews. A couple of two stars and I will be honest, from using the line, I am betting neither of them have used Sharksin. In fact the one says that SA was surprised and a "BAD BATCH?"
It is noise, but like I said, doesn't bother me. No wear on my fingers. Any WET line can be a little ruff on hands. Collects dirt or ice? You know I fish in 15 degrees....it doesn't ice anymore than any other line and as far as the dirt, I fish mossy waters...again no more than any other line.
It is your choice. Lance Egan is on the USA FFteam and also the manager of our local Cabela's. He uses SS and loves it. He said he was buying new line every year (the guy sleeps ff) but he was into like his third year now with SS.
All I know, if you get a chance to try it, you would be looking for a way to come up with the extra cash.[
