Christmas Tree Permits
#7
I usually get my permit at the Bear River Service Area. Most years that means driving around through Evanston and back up Mirror Lake Highway because it's closed by snow above Soapstone. Take my son and dogs and make a day out of it hiking, checking if the lakes are frozen and maybe a little fishing. The general store in Hanna has sold permits in the past as well but Wolf Creek Pass is pretty much always closed by the time they sell them and the areas to get trees are a bit of a drive whereas by Bear R. you just have to drive a bit to find some spruce tree.
