I can tell you have not caught a whole lot of Lake trout at Bear Lake. Every now and again you can find a healthy Mack in there, but most are severely stunted and scrawny. I don't think it matters a bit if you keep a lake trout out of there in fact it probably helps to pull a few out. Lettting them live in Flaming Gorge might be another story, but it seems the lakers in Bear Lake have a hard time finding enough food to survive!! The fish don't taste very good anyway, but if people keep a few I don't think it hurts a thing, just might give another fish a better chance to get fat!
