Good thing is that you can just bend it back!
The small guides shouldn't hurt you if you use an underspin though since it doesn't have the line whip off the spool like a normal spinning reel. The spiral that needs to be controlled is determined by the size of the front hole of the reel and I doubt you'll have any blank slap.
I say just go play with it.
