Cabelas ad in today's paper has Big Chief smokers on sale for $99, normally $149. I certainly disagree with prior posts that you need to buy a more expensive smoker, and that the Big Chiefs don't perform well in the winter. The Big and Little Chiefs are the number one seller in Alaska--nuff said. If the temp. is low, they suggest you simply place the smoker in the box it comes in, or you can purchase a cover that is insulated. The Big Chief operates at a hotter temp than the Little Chief. In regards to the comments about turkeys, etc., you want to finish them up in an oven anyway. Mike
