You know, I generally (specially on stillwater) HATE to attach a fly to the bend cause it HAS to effect the way that fly floats, but IT CATCHES FISH!
I am one of those that has to tie off at the eye.......MOST times
If I am fishing a river and it is close quarters OR windy...I absolutely do the #3 with the dropper off the bend. I guess that is why I prefer to squish the barbs instead of barbless hooks. The squished barb forms a little bump the keeps that dropper from sliding off.
But TAGS are my favorite. I think because I am so use to fishing furled leaders no.
