On my pontoon, the whole top was 5' X 5' platform of aluminum (flat frame). It was great. My dog can run around on the deck, I had the cloth seat that folded flat, and the pontoon was definitely big enough to be well balanced. The problem I had was I need something to grab hold of. Even in the river, I use a wading staff.
I had ideas on some kind of lean bar but never got around to it.
Sold that pontoon and the new one has all that.
Very nice mods. You use the chain as an anchor too?
