YUBA???
#5
[cool][#0000ff]Don't know if you hit them much last year, but I made several trips...both to Oasis and to Painted Rocks. Also hit the narrows a couple of times. On every trip the perch were like gold...where you found them.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]On the same day at Oasis I caught fish in 18 feet and 35 feet...and some folks caught them even deeper. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]At Painted Rocks the water was quite a bit shallower than the previous year, but there was still some 30 foot water to the west of the island. Quite a few perch were caught between the Island and the narrows and around the narrows in the 30 foot water. But, plenty were also caught to the east of the island, in water as shallow as 15 feet. In fact, some folks reported catching them in only about 12 feet of water on a couple of trips.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Still very early in the ice season for Yuba yet. Even though it has been stingy with perch and walleyes this year, there just have to be lots of good sized fish still in the lake. But, they are notorious for being sneaky and hard to find. And finding them is no guarantee you can catch them.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I have not done well on them during the open water months this year and I don't plan any ice fishing trips to Yuba unless there are some better reports than those I have gotten already. I wouldn't be surprised to hear about somebody hammering them on any given trip. But, I also will not be surprised if nobody really gets into them at all.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Kay Sarah Sarah...or however that goes.[/#0000ff]
