You bring up a good point Lava. That could have been the life cycle for those fish. They will only get so big and live so long.

Hooter, I understand what you are saying. I remember 27" being a dime a dozen. That went away and I thought I would never see them again in my life, specially seeing how the whole lake was killed off.
I hate seeing all the big fish taken too, also at H in Idaho. Personally I have seen many wall hangings and in MY opinion, the fiber glass are much better looking.
Several pictures as quickly as you can, Length, Width and a weight if you can without too much handling but there are formulas if you can't.
When taking a fish OUT of the water, imagine running as hard as you can, then see how long you can hold your breath.....that is the fish.
And Barbless hooks mean less handling, but wet hands are a must.

The thing is on this, it is already done, they are proud and rightfully so wether you or I would have done the same doesn't matter.
Respectfully, this is their time. Maybe a pm would have been better, I don't know, again, what is done is done.
