I took the tube out for the first time yesterday, but unfortunately did not have any success. I launched at the Lincoln Beach boat harbor and fished the shallows just out side the reeds, I also went out further when I wasn't getting any bites. I literally tried everything that I brought with me. I trolled a worm (on bottom and under a bobber) I also trolled a minnow the same way. I tried letting my bait sit. I tried all my plastics, I tried all my lucky spinners. I had no luck at all, so I packed up and drove a little further down the road to where I saw a "navy fleet" out in the water. I counted 23 boats/tubes/toons in that one spot. I thought they might have known something that I don't, so I launched again. I kicked out to where the group was and once again I cast out everything that I had. No luck here either. I was hoping I could get into some walleye, but I would've been just as happy to catch anything at all. I didn't really see anybody else catch a fish while I was there, so I guess I don't feel too bad. I need to be more patient and let the lake warm up so I can do the kind of fishing that I know how to do. Although, I am not really known for my patience, so I'll probably go out and get skunked a few more times before the lake decides to wake up.
