Walleye Writup Finished
#24
[cool][#0000ff]The Knolls are a "sleeper" spot for the wallies. During the spawn they are sometimes thick around the rocks where the point comes down into the water. Since it is on posted property you can no longer fish there by wading (unless you don't speak or read English). But, you can launch a tube or toon off the shallow area where the road ends and kick down to fish it from the open water. Maybe not as big an area as Lincoln Beach...and maybe not quite as many fish...but less competition.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Post spawn walleyes are all up and down the shoreline...during May and June. The whities swarm the shallows to spawn and the walleyes are just outside, moving in to snack occasionally. You can catch the odd walleye almost any time of year around the Knolls. They often pick up the minnows or other baits being fished for catfish.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I will be hitting Lincoln Beach another time or two in the next week but will probably "escape" the crowds by going across the lake soon.[/#0000ff]
