Hey there myu,
To answer your first question, I am an American and my family is of German extraction. Ex-wife is Okinawan and kids are Okinawan-american. I'll be visiting Okinawa in the not-to-distant future.
If you live in Yomitan but you should know. Do the Nago fishermen still round up the poor little innocent dolphins and kill them as I heard they did when I lived in Okinawa?
You were talking about dangerous fish around Okinawa but said nothing about the creatures I'm MOST scared of.... the sea snakes !!!!! I was skin diving one day off Nanbu Beach and saw some curved sticks floating vertically in the water and when I got nearer I could see they were mating sea snakes, ya the ones that you die from a bite before you can get out of the water. I've seen them slithering around the rocks at low tide in the rocks around Naminoue too!!
Did you know that the 'in-line' (line through the rod blank) rods are being marketed in the US now?
Talk to ya later,
JapanRon
a.k.a. tsurikichi Oh ya, my nickname with my Japanese friends was sukebe ryoshi. ha ha ha
