from what I've hear the ones at costco, sam's club walmart etc. are ok for basic tooning. At least the one going for around $250 range. I still wouldn't take it on any real rapids, but for a calm float like on the S. Fork of the snake, the Henry's Fork or lakes and ponds it should be pretty good.
