MJB<br><br>sorry for the delay. No the Spirex 200 rear drag is a spinning reel. Have to say that it is one of the finest I have ever owned, though definitely not the most expensive. I really like them for their dyna balance and double paddled handles. Very handy. Pretty unique looking reels with serious attitude. Built primarily for freshwater fishing and lighter lines, they are tough. Haven't had any problems with them yet...(knock on wood) and they have seen and dealt with some really nice fish the last two years for me, although probably nothing nearly as big as what you and the others guys get to fish for in the ocean! <br><br>later<br><br><br>keep those lines wet <br><br>Daniel C.
