Good idea! I didn't think about sitting on the frame.
This is great. I love how an idea will grow and transform, and I am excited to see how the wheelchair batteries last.
I know that there are a lot of people who will use trolling motors on tubes and toons, if the weight of the battery can be lessened. Even if the hours aren't as much in one battery you could use two. That way a person who has restrictions on lifting could still independently get out on the water. The cost would be more though.
That is why I really wanted to get out, and test, and play with this idea, but the weather is not playing nice.
I thought today there might be a chance to get on the water, but considering that the wind is already blowing across most of southern Idaho at 25 mph with gusts to 50, -- no. (Northern Utah above Great Salt Lake has winds of 40 with gusts to 64 this morning) Lovely, but I think I will wait. I am really a fair weather fisherman.
Hope the batteries work great. For myself I don't plan on trolling all day anyway, so the lesser amp hours would be ok. If I wanted to troll -- I would use our boat!
Post some pictures when you get a chance.
