I cited the data from the report you noted. It says that in all cases where a duck was put into a pool containing unnaturally high concentrations of viligers, that 1/2 of them transported viligers when they walked a distance of 10'.
That's all that is proven, Bob.
No proof that viligers can remain alive when waterfowl move from one lake or river to another. Not one bit of proof other than they can be transported 10' and then less than 1/2 of them can do it and only if they are first in a pool with concentrations of viligers that cannot be reached in the wild.
Sorry, Bob. It's humans, not waterfowl that move mussels. Ducks have been migrating around this earth for thousands of years yet the mussel only spread after humans moved them less than 50 years ago. Wake up to the facts.
