Suggestions for "big guy' boat?
#29
Thanks for the heads up. Yes we are involved with Project Healing Waters. That's what started this mad quest. WE both had appointments in the Occupational Therapy Clinic at Walter Reed that fateful day back in January, which just happened to be the day that the 2010 season kicked off. Neither of us had ever done any fly fishing until then. Now we attend fly tying class most Tuesdays and casting practice out on the WRAMC front lawn each Wednesday.

I asked around today, several are avid kayakers, but no float tube Pontoon afficaniados. My new good friend and neighbor, Jim Scheld - former treasurer - now Administrative VP of Healing Waters is a very experienced kayaker with lots of knowledge of our local waters has offered to help us get started. There are no fishing clubs in this area that I know of.

Long Beach you say? That my birthplace - I grew up in San Diego. My brother still lives there - his oldest in one of LA's finest. He's been on the PD now for nearly 20 years. My, time flies. Speaking of flies, let me get back on topic. Thanks for your advice. PHWFF is a great organization. We're having the Walter Reed Program's (Dave Folkerts' group) this Saturday up near Baltimore at Cody Kittleman's pond. Supposes to be some really good walleye and largemouth up there, along with tons of blue gill. Wish I could test the new float tube there. One of our instructors today suggested that I test it on a live fire exercise at a lake rather than the Potomac River. He said a freind tested his on the Susquehanna River, and of course dumped it over and lost all tackle that wasn't tied down . . . Gilbert Run or St. Mary's Lake is sounding pretty good to me!

Cheers!
