TD, How are you measuring amps used? I have several testers at home and at work. The amp testers I have at work will only tell you the amp draw. How do you measure the used amps? Ron
[cool][#0000ff]Mostly guesswork. Inaccurate but close enough for gummint work...or fishermen. I make sure my batteries are at full capacity before a trip. I put them on a charger as soon as I return home. I watch the amount of time it takes to return them to full charge...at either 10 amps or 2 amps per hour charge time. When finished I check the total voltage output to make sure.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Simple math tells me that if it takes exactly two hours...at 10 amps...to recharge a battery...then it expended (one way or another) approximately 20 amps of power during the trip.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]It really would be helpful to have some kind of meter or measuring device that would instantly tell you the amps of available power remaining in a battery. There may be one but I have not found it.[/#0000ff]
