I have driven and reasearched with mapgs and google earth from Walters ferry to Weiser. It is all very doable but it will be slow in places. I floated form Payett to weiser with a float tube. It was actually about half way between. Anyway it was a TON of fun but it went faster than I expected. Gaging how far is tough. The wind is a HUGE factor.
Some areas are a little faster and shallow. My plan was to camp on the islands. I have maps with ownership so I don't stay on the NFWR islands. I also have GPS locations of catfish surveys that have been done over the years. One of the areas I have on GPS had over 50 fish caught on that survey in a 50 yard stretch.
For a two day trip only I would look at the area from Boise WMA to weiser. I think if I remember right that float is about 30 miles. That was my original trip I had planned for this year but every time I wanted to do it in June the wind was blowing 30+ miles an hour.
My uncle lives on Lone Star in Nampa. I can't quite see the lake from his house but I don't have to go far to see it. Ron
