Thanks for the report. I've hunted up on Cottonwood Creek but never fished it. Grasshoppers on the Middle Fork is some fun fishing. The very lowest part of the river - right before it becomes part of the reservoir - can be really good and nobody ever fishes it. All in all, it sounds like you had a great day and did justice to a day off.
