as i fish predominantly for bass i take exception to the culling of 10" bass. why don't we cull 10" trout? i would much rather catch 10 " bass than a 10 " trout. the overpopulated bass could be re-stocked somewhere else. i feel the f &g spends way to much money on stocking 7" rainbows with white meat that taste disgusting and do not fight. lets get more walleye and bass !!!!! just my 2 cents.
And Im on the opposite side. All the bass and non native fish piss me right off as they have really screwed some of our great fishing. A prime example is the bass in Ririe. Sure they are great in the res. but you can't keep them there. We used to go in and fish williow creek below keps crossing in June. Fishing was absolutely amazing for about 3 weeks until the water warmed up. Then we started catching a few bass and noticed that the trout fishing went crap. Within 3 years the trout fishing completely bombed. And you could the bass stacked in there out of the res. Now its not even worth going down in there.
As far as too much effort into trout..... you do remember this is Idaho where its the land of trout predominantly?
