Rapalas from shore?
#5
Why wouldn't you be able to catch fish from shore with Rapala's or virtually any other lure for that matter? There aren't many lures that are exclusive to boaters. Either way you're just standing on a solid surface and presenting a lure/bait in an available column of water. What you have to do is tailor your presentation to the specific circumstances. Is the water deep or shallow; is it weedy, rocky, or open smooth bottom; what's the water temp; etc. Now what species are likely to be present; what lures do these species typically hit and what lure will I be able to work the area with most effectively.

Now go look at basspro-shops.com selection of Rapala's and I will show you a Rapala, or a ton of others lures, that will work in shallow, deep, weedy, rocky, open, warm or cold water. Lures are not all created equal nor are the fish that eat them. Lures are tools that are created for different situations and fish species. Do some homework on the species you're after then ask specific well thought out questions and you might just get some great information.

What I would do (have done) is after searching this site for information go to in-fisherman.com and lindnermedia.com check out their vidoes, buy a few DVD's, buy a book, subscribe to the magazine, heck go to the library and see what they have that can help you in your quest for fishing education.
