I agree that this could prove to be a disaster to the fishery at Strawberry, but it will effect the crawdads long before the trout. The smallies will eat crawdads over small fish almost any day.
Then the next problem is when they spawn and spawn and spawn and then they will stunt. Leaving millions of three inch smallies swimming around, with no predators to thin them. Nobody will keep them, and nothing will eat them.
I agree that there might be a bounty on them. There should also be a regulation similar the regs on lakers at Yellowstone Lake. No live release. All smallies caught at Strawberry should be killed. There should be a bounty on, or at least a reward for reporting bucket planters.
