Fished the view yesterday oct 10 with joe (utcatman) and i must say it was the best smallie day i have ever had.
Got on the lake at 730 to a fog blanket over the lake, beautiful view of the lake. Headed to our spot and started "whacking" the smallies. Stayed in the same spot for about two hrs before we pulled anchor and started trolling the shore. we ended up pulling about 30 smallies and 1 lmb out of the spot. Fish were from 7 inches and up to the high teens with each of us catching our personal best smallie (SEE PICS).
Started moving and throwing for musky and had a few hook ups and a couple break offs before i landed the first musky of the day on a spinnerbait.
Moved to the next shoreline that has always been productive for smallies and micro muskies. Picked up 2 lmbs right of the bat and broke off a musky as well.
Started moving again and catching a bass here and there but really chasing and wanting the muskies.
I started throwing a big yozuri crank while joe throw his secret lure which paid off in the end.
Joe ended up catching a smallie, lmb, and a nice musky on the secret lure before we called it a day. We fished from 730 - 730pm yes 12hrs on the lake and total fish count for smallies was around 40 with maybe 5 or 6 llms and 3 micro muskies ono my part and joes nice musky.
Joe got big smallie of the day as well as big musky of the day.
we saw some monster muskies hanging out on bottom on the flats close to deep water.
Fished the view again oct 11 and wow what a change, fished for about 4 hrs with only about 10 smallies and three muskies that broke me off and did some out of water acrobats. the areas that were productive yesterday only yielded a fish here and there. got on a spot that i caught a micro musky yesterday and found it to hold about 4 or 5 12" to 22" micro muskies. Had two hook ups and one break off, in this area i saw something cool , there was a small micro musky about 12" or so inches that had a friend folllowing behind him, his friend was about a 14" lmb that was just following him around, kinda cool to see them hanging out together.
Left the lake around 1130 water temp was 59.5*
Water is dropping fast
lake was glass but the fish have scattered since yesterday
ENJOY THE PICS
