Action: Close Nisqually River for coho retention.
Effective dates: Nov. 1, 2010 until further notice.
Species affected: Coho salmon.
Location: Nisqually River from the mouth to military tank crossing bridge (located one mile upstream of mouth of Muck Creek). Pierce/Thurston counties.
Reasons for action: As of Oct. 22, only 75 hatchery coho have returned to the Clear Creek salmon hatchery. Approximately 700 adults are needed to meet the program goal.
