I enjoy catching big carp plenty, I caught a 13 pound carp out of the snake a couple years ago on a 4ft5 ultralight ugly stick and that was a blast, but when someplace is overrun with them then you eventually get tired of only being able to catch carp.
I am only learning how to fly fish but i would like to eventually get good enough at it to try for tiger muskie on the fly, and i'm sure they would be a whole lot harder and funner to catch than a carp on the fly(it took me all summer to land a small one on a spinning set up, only 20 inches and faught as hard as a 23in SMB that weighed several pounds more).
Carp could eventually overtake other species and i am not overly thrilled with the idea of carp being majority what i catch.
