When should a fish be left alone ???
#33
As far as I can tell, they go all the way down to the ocean. though I suppose it would be possible to recondition in a reservoir, but I haven't seen that in any of our fish. The majority end up dead anyway, but every once in a while some come back. I don't know how many go through the turbines, but I can say that believe it or not, probably the safest way to pass a dam going downstream is over the spillway, even though I wouldn't want to try it myself [shocked]. For example, that fish that I mentioned that I tagged this spring that already went down and came back up, apparently went over the spillways all the way down. Also a good portion of them are diverted away from the turbines into the juvenile fish bypass.
