That is very interesting! But why have I seen pictures in AK of some guys who caught steelhead icefishing on lakes? You would think their agression or whatever makes them strike would be gone once in a large body of water such as a lake. They would have to be cruising in the lake, and that is typically associated with feeding.


This was Southeast AK too, on Prince of Wales Island, so no huge rainbows in the lakes. Biggest rainbow I ever caught there was 24 inches not 24 lbs.

I know it's just a fish story without pics, but I have none to back it up.
