We fished on the east side (Highway side). There were only two other groups fishing on the east side but looking to the north side, I could see at least two shelters. I didn't see or hear any wheelers or snowmobiles.
We used Maniac cutter bugs tipped with mealworms. At least until we ran out of meal worms and that didn't take long. After that we just fished with the cutter bugs and the catching was just as fast if not faster because we didn't have to stop and re-bait. I got BIGbites and his friend fishing first and they each had three of four fish before I got started. Fun times. Temps were in the single digits to teens all day but the sun was shining bright and there was no W. The two boys fished in the shelter and had a hoot catching the gills and bass.
I talked to a guy fishing near by and he said he was seeing quite a few "larger" bass on his underwater camera, but he couldn't get them to bite. I think I caught about one bass to every two bluegill yesterday (Dec. 31). The bass were all 11" to 14".
