Well, new to me.
Spent some time in Pierre, SD on Lake Oahe where a group of guys have developed a new way to spear walleye through the ice.
Found a video from the outfitters online, some goose hunting at the beginning but about halfway through it shows what I'm talking about.
They had 34 people in ice shacks the weekend I went out on the lake. New experience and tons of fun!

Is this type of spearing going on anywhere else or similar ways? They use large rattle baits to draw in the fish and then drop these heavy spears onto the walleye or whatever swims underneath.
