Thank you for all of your responses. Great, just what I need, another reel (Allen) to be thrown into the mix 
jk I checked out the reviews and prices and they look like a great reel as well. Flygoddess, I mostly fish for trout on either the middle or lower provo. I haven't broken out of my comfort zone and tried lake fishing with a fly rod. I usually use my spin gear for that but know that I need to try it out, especially Strawberry. I have fished the Berry a number of times but never with a fly rod. Just thinking of a slot cuttie on a fly rod makes my heart race. Do you know which Ross reels are not made in the US anymore? That's too bad that they outsource their manufacturing. Remo, noted about the machining vs. cast. That makes sense that the machining would be higher quality. I am upgrading from my okuma sierra 5/6. It is their low-end model so I am open to other okuma's since the sierra has served me well.
