Yeah, I'm hearing reports from most everyone that it's really slowing down now. Must have hit the wall hard in the last couple of weeks.
yeah yeah - you're just trying to tell everyone to go away so YOU can catch all them big browns! I know it! [shocked]
Seriously - haven't been up since Sunday last, but was good solid then. Snow machines blazing around, there's open water by the inlet, but didn't see the edges soften up even late afternoon Sunday. But it was cold then. Got in/out at the swim beach area. Did hit on some perch and li'l trout. Enuf to keep me baitin' the hooks!
So Curt - I've been thinking of trying the dock area, but seem to keep ending up by the inlet. See folks along the SW shore - and have done ok there on water/shore seasons. Just not sure how the ice, water flow impact that. Always seems like bass hang around the docks.
How'd ya do with the Cisco? Did you take your boat, or go wading with nets? It sounds like fun! As long as the waves aren't TOO big!!!
I've had to move deep at Hyrum, to areas with more sparse bottom - mud, not weeds - to find the perch. But all dinkery dawgs. Definitely not the Willard or Starvation chunks!
Still hope to hit Pineview and Newton - at least once while we still have ice. Any ya'll wanna do da Pig one of these days? I'd try a weekday even (after Jan is over!).
Then there's a night-fishn trip to PV or N ??? Some day I don't HAVE to get up the morning after!!!!!
Might be in a 'tent' - but I ain't sleepin! I'm-a-jiggin!
