Sweet pix, that's what I need to do to make my fish look as big as my stories... So what do you do to catch Crappie through the ice? Can they be found on Cutler this time of year?
Go to different lakes than the ones I've been to!!!
Hit Willard hoping to find some, no luck. Need to head to Pineview or Newton and give it a try. I hear they like more action in their jigs, and will go up, but not down after a lure. Waxworms mealworms. Seen some decent reports, but seems like mostly dinky ones being found.
I have yet to meet a Cutler Crappie, but have high hopes. Friend told me to try the wooden bridge at Benson at first ice off - which feather tail jigs tipped. We didn't have any luck last spring.
Does the ice get thick enough anywhere along Cutler to be safe? Suppose if we got a big long nasty cold stretch? But it keeps flowing. Tried along the Bear and Cutler - but when there were big slush chunks flowing - too easy to lose lures....
