Hi Kybasser,

Well, it is usually more popular to rig bulkier, fatter-bodied single tail grubs, skirted hula grubs and tube baits on jig heads.

Worms will work as well on jig heads, although worms are more often "rigged" Carolina, Texas or Dropshot style. For example, here is a good photo of how to Texas-rig an 8" worm in Florida (they have big bass that want 8" worms there) for shallow water fishing:

As for the weight of a jig head (or Texas bullet weight) to use with a worm, a general guideline is to try yo use at least the minimum weight to get you on or near the bottom. So, 1/8 or 1/4 oz. in shallow water, 3/8 or 1/2 oz. in deeper water or in a current flow, and so on.

Bassdozer Worldwide Bass Fishing
www.bassdozer.com
