Yeah, that could be a concern. Used to be they were on a 4 or 5 year cycle. When I moved to Boise in 1990 and started fishing Cascade we hit the beginning of the cycle - all the perch were dinks measured in centimeters instead of inches, or so it seemed.[] Took a few years before we'd see the resident population providing decent sized fish worth keeping. Wonder if the fisheries biologists took that into consideration when they started their recovery program. I still haven't heard an explanation for why the perch population was eventually totally whiped out.
