I believe the year round catch and release regulation below the A.F. dam is "no-bait" which puts the dampers on sturgeon fishing. I have heard of people baiting sturgeon with multiple worm globs but more traditionally use dead trout or other small fish (8 to 12" usually). Sometimes people get their bait at the hatchery where the dead trout can be had for free. Those holes that DF mapped below Eagle Rock are legal this time of year. A little downstream of there and maybe 100 yards downstream of the rest area, on the corner, I notice a hole about 100 feet deep on my fish finder. Bank access looked gnarly but possible.
