[quote Fishrmn]I'd trade EVERY perch water in Utah for one more trout fishery. Stunted, 5 or 6 inch, spiny, die when their swim bladder expands, perch ain't nothin' but boring. They've ruined more than one fishery in Utah. Fish Lake is the perfect example. As one member put it: "They are a scourge." [quote]
I think the difference in your attitude and alot of peoples attitude is you want it your way. I have tolerated the encroachment on starvation with the introduction of planted slimers so your average cheese tosser can finaly catch a fish out of there. It about made me throwup when I watched a trihull launch last year with popgear sails strait up in the air. But everybody pays for that lake, just like every lake. And if some of you die hard trout guys caught a perch or walleye out of your prized trout lake that you've been pounding 11 inchers out of all day, you would throw a 2 year old tantrum and blame the 11 inch fish on walleye, while your only 50 yds from the truck dumping 20000 more 9 inchers in.
I dont mind catching the occational slimer. My point is other species would do just as good in most if not all our lakes with the help of food. And your precious non spiney, oil filled, bleed from the gills even if you hook em in the tail trout would be healthier also.
