What I use is a fishing buddy and the outcast float tube strap. I put it around the tube portion and remove the fishing buddy when I want to row. It easily can sit on the side of you and you can put it back in the holder when you want to use it again. I generally kick with my fins when trolling and row when I want to cover some water. I am sure you can buy the strap on pole holders scotty makes as well.
