Started out at 8:30 to go get the boat at storage. Backed up and looked for the keys to unlock the hitch. emoDoh Left them at home. It had been so long since I had the boat out that I forgot I took the keys out of the car. So back home and about 45 minutes later I am hooking the boat and got to Chester Frost at 10am. Water is high at the ramp so a little tricky getting the boat in without getting wet but I managed. The wind was howling so I decided to see if any of those fish released during FLW were hanging around. Tried some boat docks, banks, and blow downs but nothing biting. Threw SB and Jig. Decided I would brave the main lake. The first thing I saw was a blue heron right outside of CF standing on a tree. emoEek Lots of stuff floating and blowing! Waves were too big to have fun running up the lake so I decided to fish some close by coves. Caught my first and best fish on a jerkbait. Loaded up on it. On boga grip weighed around 3+. Measured at 19 inches. Nothing really decent after that. Except while I was untangling a backlash I felt something pull on the line and then yank! emoFish So I decided to skip the untangling and try to reel in which I did! It was pulling real hard and I am thinking maybe a 9+ but when it showed itself it was one of Drumking's stinking pets emoBang About 10 or twelve pounds and just crushed the jerkbait. I was struggling to get the net and just as I bent down to grab it that doggone drum took off and broke my line taking my confidence bait with it! emoBang emoBang Drumking when you see your pet again my jerkbait is chartruse with silver on it. Please return. After that incident I couldnt get another bite and the wind howled on so I decided to call it a day. Had fun even though wasnt my best day on the lake.
